Last Day (of Work, not Australia, silly!!)

Wow, after six weeks, I had my last day at Greenwood. The day prior I made brownies. I can't say if they were fully cooked because I don't understand these fan-powered celsius ovens, but the office ate the whole batch and survived, so no worries, right? In any case, in my haste to not forget my brownies, on Tuesday I wound up forgetting my scrubs!! I did office work for the day and sent out some things to dental schools, but I felt like a klutz. On Wednesday, I had my last day, and it was a good one where I worked with Dr. Tiff Kenton. It's kind of sad because I know everything now when I'm with a patient like where the materials are located, what materials are specific to each dentist, what the different labels and names of materials and instruments are, and everything! Hey, at least if I come back some day, they wouldn't have to train me. After the day was done, I had Thurday's office party to look forward to.

The next day, I skyped and spent some time at Coogee. Now it was cloudy 90% of the time during my three hours, but I still wound up just visibly pink (which makes me look drunk in every photo during the party! Scandalous!). It was nice to get some sun and beach, and after, I stopped at home and changed. I hopped the M20 to work, and we went to a place called Firehouse. Lisa was impressed since we don't normally have such a large crowd, but almost everyone from the office came. We were celebrating a few things like a birthday, a departure, and mine and Rhea's goodbye. Lisa bought us diner (I miss her smile already..., which was sweet. During the evening, Lisa, Jack, Jeff, and Michael (the 3 principal surgeons) presented Rhea and I each a glass monument. Truly, it was such a perfect gift because, as Lisa said, "When you're a practicing dentist (which you'll both be great), you'll have something in your practice to remember us and your experience here in Australia." I am so grateful, and I will protect it from breaking in transit because I am going to cherish it and my time here forever. Jazmine also designed it, and I adore here and miss her. She did a fantastic job. After everyone headed home, Taryn and I took our train ride home together. I am going to miss her so incredibly much. Between Jaz, Lisa, and Taryn, they all looked after me so much and took care of me, and I am so indebted to those ladies and their absolute loveliness. It was hard to say goodbye, and after I walked away from the train and Taryn, I couldn't help but tear up a bit thinking about how great a friend she had been to me during my time. I am going to profoundly miss Greenwood and my relationships there. All I can do is stay in contact (but I am going to stop by on Thursday for one last final goodbye). I need to give a proper goodbye to everyone. The team at Greenwood is truly something special, and I won't ever forget them.
